Don't waste money on PPC, Affiliate Article Marketing is Free!
Affiliate article marketing is a way for you to drive traffic to your affiliate web site that is absolutely free. Don't spend another minute wasting your money on PPC! Before you start your campaign, you have to do some research. The two areas of research you should focus on are: finding the right keywords and making sure your keywords are profitable. Then it is as simple as writing and posting your articles!
Keywords Research
I cannot stress the importance of keyword research enough. You will be wasting your time if you skip this step! Finding the right keywords ensures that your article will be posted on terms that are relevant to your topic. You want to make sure that the people who need the information in your article are able to find it.People search for information on the internet by typing in keywords into a search engine. You have to figure out what those keywords are. Once you do, you will focus one whole article on each individual keyword. So you have to do some research. The first place to look for keywords is on the sales page for the product you will be promoting. Sometimes the page will even tell you outright what keywords you should focus on. Be sure to check the sales pages of any products that are similar to the one you are promoting as well. You can also use a keyword suggestion tool. Head over to
Digital Point
and type in your keyword. It will kick back relevant keywords from Wordtracker and Overture and show how many searches there are for that keyword per day. Anything over 10 searches per day is golden. At the same time, be sure not to choose keywords that are too popular or you will not be able to rank very highly in the search engines. Try to find ones that are searched for less than 100 times a day. Use the following two methods and you should have no problem finding 50 or so keywords that you can base your affiliate article marketing on. Okay, you now have 50 keywords that are searched for 10-100 times per day. It is now time to take the next step.
Check the Profitablilty of your Keywords
Instead of blindly writing an article for each and every keyword you can think of, you can narrow down your list by doing a bit more research. In doing so, you are making sure you won't be wasting time and effort. The first thing to do is head over to Google and type in your keywords one-by-one. Check the "Sponsored Links" section to the right of the native search results. If you see ads that are promoting products like yours there, you can be sure they are profitable keywords. You may even see some ads from fellow affiliates! You are taking the smarter route, as PPC advertising can become quite expensive. While you are checking your keywords for profitability in Google, you should also check out your competition. Look at the top 5 web sites that are listed in the native results section. What you want to do is check their "Page Rank". Go to
SearchStatus
to download a free extension that will show you each web site's Page Rank. If all 5 of the web sites have a Page Rank of 4 and above, that's a bad sign. These web sites are already well established for the keyword and you would be better off not using it. You may want to also go to
MarketLeap.com
and check out how many links the web site has. The more links, the tougher it is going to be to rank above them. After you have found the right keywords to use and have made sure you can rank highly using them, it's time to sit down and right your articles. Be sure to optimize each article for each individual keyword to rank well in the search engines. You would do best writing and submitting at least three articles per day. Affiliate article marketing requires quite a bit of work, but remember that you are getting this traffic for free!
