Email Marketing Ideas and Tips to Make Your List Grow Fast

Of all the email marketing ideas, the best by far is: build your list! But you already knew that, the trick is HOW? I will show you a number of ways you can easily increase your email marketing list. If you have no list to begin with, I will explain a bit about list brokers to get you started.

Grow Your List

These email marketing ideas are applicable if you have steady traffic coming to your website and need to get more visitors signing up to your newsletter or email list. There are several things you can do.

To get more sign-ups, give subscribers something of real value when they actually do sign up. Just request their email address for your free gift. But, so that they know the value of what you are giving to them, you have to tell your visitors how your free gift will benefit them.

After you do so, and they do sign up, then - to maximize your benefit - make sure there IS real value in everything you send to them. If you have a high quality email campaign, your readers will buzz your site and you will get more traffic as a result.

You can also ask for feedback on your site to collect emails. Just have a place for visitors to give you their email address and send you their comments. Simple. You get the benefit of reading their comments and adjusting your website and you also get one more name for your email list.

When folks are making a purchase from your site, have a check box for newsletter or email sign up. One of the most important things you can do when you get a new subscriber is give them something right away, whether that be your most recent newsletter, a free report, a coupon, anything of value in addition to your thank you page.

Rent a List

All of the above email marketing ideas work well if you are already getting a steady flow of traffic to your site. But, if you don't have your own list or are working on building your list and want to get a jump start on traffic, you can rent a list from a list broker.

You will get a list of emails from the list broker (price depends on number) that you can use to market to. Most offer a variety of categories for you to choose from so you can target only those who may be interested in your message. Here are some examples of list brokers (there are many more!):

When renting lists, the more targeted the list is to your audience, the more you will have to pay per name. There may also be a minimum amount of names to rent as well. This may be too high a price considering that the lists that you have rented have lower open rates and click-through rates than the list you generate yourself. No list is more targeted than one you get from the folks that visit your site and want more information.
